Biltong

Biltong is a dried, cured meat that originated in South Africa and can be found all over the country. It has a texture similar to jerky, but uses different ingredients and processes to make it.

I ate several kinds of biltong during my safari in Kruger National Park. What made that experience unique was that the biltong was made from the meat of various game that were native to the area (the animals were killed humanely and were in no way endangered).
