Peanuts, Cracker Jack, and Grasshoppers

No trip to the ballgame is complete with your classic ballpark food: soda, garlic fries, nuts. But in recent years in the MLB, there’s been competition to see which stadium can offer the best food.

T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners, probably wins for the most unusual ballpark food. In the section of the stadium near left field called “The Pen”, Edgar’s Cantina sells chapulines, or grasshoppers!

$4 will get you a condiment cup size portion of the toasted insects. A little crunchy, but seasoned with a tasty chili-lime-salt seasoning. They’re apparently so popular that they sometimes sell out by the 4th inning.
